why you're tired before 25đ
And why it's not your fault.
Lately Iâve been feeling like Iâve lived three lifetimes in the past twelve months. There are days where I wake up and it feels like Iâm running on a 1% battery at the start of the day.
Truth is, you wake up tired. Not just sleepy â soul-tired. Youâve barely started your adult life, and it already feels like youâre running with your eyes closed through a major busy road. And itâs not just you. A lot of us feel it. Exhausted. Behind. Overstimulated. And still trying to smile through it like everythingâs fine.
For my birthday in April, I decided to take a web development course. Paid good money for it. Guess how many classes I attended? One. On Slack.
The guilt hit, of course â because âyouâre wasting money.â But Iâm also working 80-hour weeks, juggling classes, and navigating all the random chaos life throws at me. Honestly, I didnât even have the time to feel guilty.
Hereâs the gist: Weâre not lazy. Weâre overloaded.
We live in a world that never shuts up. Scroll for five minutes and youâre hit with pressure, comparison, advice, goals, glow-ups, God-whens, and a hundred âwhat ifsâ. Even rest has to be productive now. âSelf-care,â but make it aesthetic.
Youâre carrying too much, too soon, expected to build a career â or if youâre still in school, make perfect grades while developing a âpersonal brand.â
Youâre under pressure almost every minute. And unless you actively remind yourself that you are enough, youâll feel like youâre always falling short.
Be mentally healthy. Look good. Learn to cook. Fix your personality. Build deep friendships (but also, watch who you call friends).
Stay online, but not too online (donât you remember the price of data?). Travel, but donât waste money â be prudent. Go to the gym. Eat better. Glow up. Stay sane.
And whatever you do â donât slip, because âno oneâs coming to save youâ.
Youâve been told this is the prime of your life.
But⊠youâre still broke.
No wonder you fantasize about quitting everything and disappearing into a TikTok fantasy life.
Youâre not failing. Youâre surviving a system thatâs glitching.
Weâre the most emotionally aware generation ever. We know all the trauma response. Weâve read the threads, watched the reels, said the affirmations. Weâve brought out our inner psychologists and therapists but healing is heavy and awareness doesnât always equal peace.
So if youâre tired, it makes sense.
You donât have to earn your rest. You donât have to have everything figured out. Youâre allowed to slow down, log off, and just breathe.
And if no oneâs told you today: Youâre doing okay. Youâre allowed to pause. And you donât have to break to be seen.
Have a wonderful weekend đ

For the most part, I've felt this way all week and the guilt? Overwhelming!
Thank you so much for this piece
Wow. This is so raw. This is exactly how I feel these days. I'm not sleepy. I'm just soul tired and you know what? That's not my fault. To hell with the pressure. I'll rest, gist with my loved ones about random things and laugh without feeling guilty. Pressure only assures me an early grave and a life full of lifestyle sicknesses. Nah. I ain't doing that.
