You're the type to put others first.
When you do something, your first question is always how will your loved ones feel.
Your happiness is seeing them smile.
Your heart is full when they win.
You support them with all your heart and soul.
You pray for them.
You love them.
You're the one they can talk to and get advice that makes them feel better.
But who do you talk to?
Who considers your feelings?
Who makes your happiness their top priority?
Who sacrifices for you the way you sacrifice for others?
Who preserves your energy?
Who pours into you when you're empty from giving others?
Who holds you up when you're down?
Who sees through your smile and tells you, "you don't need to be strong in front of me"?
The Bible says love your neighbour AS yourself. Not more than yourself.
You're not Jesus. You're not a man or woman of many sorrows.
You're just a kind soul.
And because you are naturally compassionate, it is in your nature to spread yourself for those who need you.
But darling, you're not God.
You'll wear thin.
You'll crash and burn.
You'll hate yourself and the world for tossing aside your efforts with the simple words, "I didn't ask you to do that".
I'm not saying you should change who you are.
Just be wise about it.
Pour into yourself exactly what you pour into others.
Know when to walk away when you're not appreciated.
Pray and actively seek out those who are like you.
When you're empty, they'll pour into you.
And when they're empty, you'll do the same.
You are only human.
Remember that the next time you try to play God.
