fake it😎
To be who you want to be.
"To be who you want to be, you have to first pretend to be who you want to be”
~David Larbi.
Isn't it funny that when you want to sleep, you have to first pretend to be asleep before you fall asleep? That's how it is with becoming. Want to be a writer, doctor, lawyer, digital creator? It takes constant repetition, practice and application—pretending to be that thing you want to be so much, a journey towards a desired destination. It is in doing this that you are sometimes faced with doubts, uncertainty and unworthiness.
The fact that you are daring enough to not only aspire, but work to become, tend to make you unworthy sometimes. It's your duty to understand that whilst these thoughts will creep in, you owe it to yourself to ignore them and take them as a mark that you are getting somewhere.
Acknowledge that you are already becoming. You are already a singer just that you'll become a better singer. You are already a content creator, just that you will become a better content creator. You are already an entrepreneur, you will become a better one. This reminds me of this terrifyingly honest quote:
If repetition breeds mastery, for every time you do not repeat the thing you want to do, you become the master of the opposite.
My point? Fake it till you make it. You're making yourself into a better more accomplished version of yourself. Even if it feels like you're not those things, you're getting better so keep at it. Someone said they're cheating on their exams by listening to what their lecturer said in class so that when they get home they can write it down which is funny because that's literally studying but it's the practice, the repetition that actualises their success in the exam.
So, get yourself a clean cut or nice hairdo. Dress well, speak nice and with eloquence. Learn a skill. Practice what you learn. Turn heads and just do. Allow people talk. Fake it till it becomes your reality. Making it is in itself a journey.
I hope this brought you some clarity. You can check out this episode of David's podcast for more tea.
In the meantime, we are going on a pretty long hiatus (hopefully it isn't too long). I am swamped with a ton of school work plus I'd be writing my first professional exam soon. I'll miss you but I promise to be back with better structure and a lot of podcast episodes or at least the gall to be consistent with it.
Enjoy your weekend and tell your friends about Answers For Gen Z💛
Congratulations, you made it to the end. I would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to leave a comment.

First, I'm going to go ahead an pitch to this amateur football club like I'm an established Brand Strategist with case studies and all.
And I'm going to talk, walk, work like who I'm going to be across board.
You see, if future me wouldn't ignore the message of an adidas representative when they're a client, why should I procrastinate on replying the WhatsApp DM of this client who wants me to help with their newsletter?
Also, one subtler, less-paid-attention-to is "where would future me hang out or visit?" Can I visit there now?
Thank you for this...
Wishing you all the best with school work, though. Available to write for the Gen Z podcast, though.
